Setting up academic email address

BSMMC provides academic email addresses to the faculty members and to the students. In this manual, you'll learn how you can set up your academic email address in your Gmail mobile app.

Step: 1

In your mobile, open the Gmail app. The icon looks like this one:

Click on your profile image icon on the upper right corner.

Step: 3

Click on the 'Add another account' button in the opened window.

Step: 4

Click on the Google button

Step: 5

In the next window, enter the email address that has been provided to you from your institution. Then click 'Next' button

Step: 6

Enter the initial password that has been provided to you. Then click 'Next'.

You will see a welcome page and click on the 'Accept' button.

Step: 7

In this step, you now have to set up a strong password for your email address. Give a password that only you will know and then confirm it. Then click 'Next' button.

Step: 8

Click 'I agree' on the Google Terms.

It will then take a few moments to set up your account. When the set-up in complete, you may see a 'Account action required' notification in your notification list as below. Just click on it.

Congratulations, you have successfully completed setting up your email address.

Checking your email

To check email, again go to Gmail app and click on the profile icon on the upper right corner. There you'll see the academic email address that you have added. Click on it.

Now, you'll be able to see, send and receive emails from your academic email address.
